LEVEL 1

Welcome to Meditation for the Curious Beginner

Course Description:
Welcome to our 3-hour introductory mindfulness meditation workshop. This is ideal for those seeking information about and the experience of an effortless easy mindfulness meditation practice. You are not learning anything new but simply reconnecting with all that is already in you. We will have lots of time for your questions and observations.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Where meditation originates from and why it works

  • The many styles of meditation

  • What meditation is and what it isn’t

  • Meditation misconceptions

  • How meditation works

  • The three ingredients required for any meditation

  • The effects of stress, how it accumulates and how meditation releases it

  • Recent research findings on meditation and the brain

  • Neuroplasticity: how the state of meditation changes the traits of your brain and the physical, mental, emotional, and lifestyle benefits that will unfold.

  • What experiences you might have in meditation

  • How you can be more mindful in your everyday life

  • Three ways meditation trains your attention

  • Easy-to-use meditation techniques

  • Breathing as your companion for life and meditation

  • Guided and personalized meditation instruction

  • What transcendence is and why it is so powerful

  • How to meditate anywhere and how to create a successful personal practice

  • What to do when you are stressed and how to use meditation practices

  • Mindful Body Awareness Practice: Come to your Senses!

  • Mindful Breath Awareness Meditation

  • Heart-Centered Breath Practice

  • Self-Inquiry Practice and intention setting

  • Silent Sound (mantra) Meditation

  • Closing with a meditation

Meditation for the Curious Beginner is a 3 hour course. Online via Zoom.

LEVEL 2

Welcome to a deeper dive and more exploration

Course Description:
For those who have taken the Introduction course or similar. This is a deeper dive into meditation and you will also receive your unique Personal Mantra ceremony.

Session 1
In this workshop we delve into the following:

  • Review your meditation experiences to date + questions

  • Vedic and Yoga philosophy big picture!

  • The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and role of meditation

  • Ayurveda nutrition for balancing your mind and body

  • An exploration on the nature of consciousness

  • Layers of Life: how meditation enables us to access our expanded selves in different layers of consciousness

  • Seven States of Consciousness

  • Primordial Sound Meditation: your personal mantra acquired from the Chopra Centre data bank based on your date place and time of birth.

  • Personal instruction using a Vedic prayer ceremony (10 mins per person)

  • Mantra

  • Close with questions/experiences

  • Four Soul Questions and Intentions for Living

  • Group meditation

  • Book Club

Required :

Date place and if possible, the time of birth to calculate your personal mantra.

For the mantra ceremony, please have a candle, some small fruits and any small item or photograph that is special to you in order to create a sacred space to receive your mantra.
